It is often said that running the laptop with only AC adapter is good to laptop battery. Of course, AC adapter can provide more power to laptop than any extended laptop batteries, meanwhile, the battery life is also determined by recharging cycles. However, is it definitely a wise decision to do like that?

To laptop battery charger, it will bring out overloaded burden. As all the laptop batteries have protection circuits, it comes to be much safer to computer than with ac adapter only. Once it becomes overheat, it seems to be dangerous to users. Besides, the computer is at risk of data loss for unsteadiness or poor contact will lead to auto off.

To laptop batteries, the factors to damage seem to be more complex. In fact, except for recharging cycles, there’re many other factors to battery life, such as temperature, current, habits and so on. If the battery is not with good maintenance, life span will also be reduced rapidly.

Especially for those not used for a long time, it is even more perilous. After removing from notebook computer, the most important thing is storage. You may have heard that many laptop batteries are dead in only half a year. Normally, if battery won’t be used for more than three weeks, it needs to be stored in a cool and dry bag with about 40% capacity in it. Otherwise, one day you will find it is already out of work.

Whatever, users have to weigh the pros and cons according to requirements before making the decision. In daily work, everyone has his own habits with different conditions. There’s no the best choice for laptop users but better strategies for maintenance.
